Born at dairy farm and used for breeding/milk production. When dairy was going to "retire" her, she was passed on to an educational farm where she continued to be bred and milked. At nine years old, she was to be "retired" from the educational farm, and at that point was given to a local family with a small homestead. Family fell on hard times and could no longer care for Honey or her calf.

Used at a petting zoo in Sacramento. Was skinny and looked sick, Katherine and Melissa Nygard got him out. Spent a week at Davis because he had salmonella and pneumonia.

Born at an organic dairy, developed an infection in her legs that went to her bone. Caused leg deformities. Rescued by young girl who splinted her legs and straightened her out. Sent her back to commercial dairy and she was being pushed around and falling down since they were on dry lot (concrete) for winter.
